About the Chattanooga Joint Apprenticeship Training Center

The Chattanooga Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (JATC) is jointly sponsored by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). The Apprenticeship Program consists of classroom training as well as On-the-Job Training (OJT) Apprenticeship is normally a five (5) year program with periodic advances based on the successful completion of class work and a minimum number of OJT hours. Classroom work consists of two (2) sessions a week either (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday).

Applications are accepted Monday- Friday from 8:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm- 4:00pm. To receive an application $25.00 (cash or check), a valid driver's license and  an official, sealed copy of your high school transcripts or GED scores are required.

Upon completion of the application an apptitude test will be scheduled (consisting of algebra and reading comprehension). The applicant must score a '4' or better (out of a possible '9') to be considered for a oral interview before the Apprenticeship Committee. Your interview score will determine the ranking for the selection of the Apprentice Class.

Chattanooga Electrical Apprenticeship is registered with the Department of Labor, Board of Apprenticeship Training(BAT), and therefore fall under the guidelines and regulations of this Agency.
